Imagine a place where sunlight floods into the darkest corners of our states understaffed mental health system. Where addiction treatment is a pathway to lasting healing, not a revolving door. Where boards include those with lived recovery experience, their knowledge guiding the way to better outcomes. That's the California we're creating.

Meet Our Founder

Susan Wagenaar is the founder of Colusa County Recovery, Glenn County Recovery, and Clean and Sober Nation. She has cultivated two thriving online recovery communities with a combined membership exceeding 25,000 and a growth rate of over 700 new members each month. Beyond the digital sphere, Susan is a dedicated advocate for recovery, having spoken at a dozen rehabs, facilitated over 100 group meetings in Colusa County for justice-involved individuals, and authored two e-books generously offered to the public for free. Driven by her mission to make recovery accessible anytime and anywhere, she is developing an ecosystem of interlinking recovery websites across Northern California and will soon be hosting recovery resilience workshops at the Thryve Day Center in Colusa.

Our Mission

At Glenn County Recovery, we are dedicated to empowering individuals to reclaim their lives from addiction, fostering a culture of mutual empowerment and well-being where every person is valued, every journey is honored, and every step towards recovery is celebrated.

We provide accessible pathways to recovery, both online and within our local community, through a strength-based, person-centered, holistic model that connects individuals to vital resources, trauma-informed peer support specialists, facilitated support groups, evidence-based solutions, and transformative technology that supports AI.

We break down barriers, challenge stigma, and champion change to create a more equitable recovery landscape, bridging geographical gaps and ensuring access to support for all through community partnerships, online collaborations, advocacy, and innovation.
